Costa Rican Born Designer Mauricio Alpizar Takes On NYFW with a Roar
Fashion Week is about standing out, and one designer, in particular, Mauricio Alpizar, did just that. The Costa Rican-born sustainability designer embodies what it means to radiate elegance. Alpizar moved to Australia in 1995, however, he has credited Costa Rica as his true influence, having grown up seeing his family operate their successful tailoring business. The theme for this year’s runway show, “Animal Kingdom,” allowed for Mauricio’s collection to roar with excellence.
Nolcha Shows produced their 14th annual NYFW show at the iconic 3 World Trade Center on Sept. 13 and 14, 2022. The show focused on sustainability and demand for ethical fashion featuring clothing brands Host and Var, Mauricio Alpizar, Maya Seyferth & accessory brands CoFi, Zashadu, Aumora Gems, and Anna Zuckerman.
Among those who attended this star-studded event was singer, dancer, and producer Frankie Zulferino. Frankie is a pop singer with nearly 2 million followers across all platforms and has garnered the support of music legends such as Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Ne-Yo and more. His latest single, “Drippin In Love,” was released on August 26th and recorded at Power Station recording studio with Beyoncé and Adele’s violinist Chala Yancy, acclaimed music producer Cannon Mapp and Ertiza Laues.
According to a press release, “Nolcha Shows is where fashion and Web3 communities gather real life to share knowledge, experiences, and insights. Creators, investors, founders, and industry leaders connect through education, entertainment and networking opportunities that spark collaboration toward building the future.“
