David Beckham Is PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive

David Beckham has been revealed as the 2015 winner of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, taking the crown from Chris Hemsworth. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel unveiled the former athlete as this year’s title holder during the November 17th of his late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!. This is the third year in a row that Kimmel has announced the winner of PEOPLE’s popular award to the public.

Beckham described the 30th anniversary Sexiest Man Alive title as a “huge honor.” The British hunk is arguably one of the most recognizable athletes on global level. Additionally, Beckham is a family man, married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham with four children (Brooklyn, Romeo, Harper, Cruz). Although his role as a father has certainly earned him a DILF-status, Beckham struggles with his own confidence: “I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person.” However, it’s safe to say that the rest of the world still swoons over after all these years!

PEOPLE and Lifetime are teaming up for a one-hour primetime special set to air tomorrow night, November 18th at 9pm EST. The joint effort aptly titled PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2015: 30 Years of Sexy will examine the past three decades of the annual award. Jess Cagle, the Editorial Director of PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly, released a statement exclusively through the magazine’s website, noting that the 30-year-anniversary achievement has come at a fitting time in entertainment history. He states that 2015 has marked “a pop culture milestone, so it is only fitting that we should take a look back at the evolution of this incredible franchise and celebrate on all platforms.”
