Manuel Turizo & Marshmello Release Visuals For Global Collab “El Merengue”
Colombian superstar Manuel Turizo and producer/DJ Marshmello just released the visuals for their recent collaboration “El Merengue.” This global music collaboration brings two worlds — electronic music and merengue — together for one big cross-genre hit.
The video for the track was directed by Chadrick Preuss and Sandeep Vadlamudi and takes place in a packed nightclub with Manuel reminiscing over his ex-boo. Turizo builds the courage to talk to her, reigniting an old flame. The video ends with Manuel leaving while his friend Marshmello comforts him.
In 2020, Manuel told Contrast‘s John Bonilla collaborating with other artists is a great way to build your audience. He said it’s about coming together and an artist “who is completely different and creating a seamless sound that not only is going to appeal to their fans, but to my fanbase and bring people together through it.”
Last week, the mega duo hit Times Square in New York City to unveil the international collaboration and meet with screaming fans who filled the street waiting for a photo with the Colombian super star. Equal to an Elvis Presley meet-and-greet. The images for the single were displayed on seven different billboards in the heart of the Big Apple.
Below, watch the video for “El Merengue” out now via Sony Music Latin.
The song was produced by Marshmello, Nico Cotton, Slow Mike and Edgar Barrera.
