NEON16’s Latin Music Newcomer, Kris Floyd

Puerto Rican native and Latin music’s newcomer, Kris Floyd just dropped his latest single and visual for ‘CERO.’ The record once again highlights the rapper’s unique flow and style to the genre. With the beat and vocal delivery high on swagger, the track finds a perfect balance between confident and cool.

Fresh to the music scene, Kris is very much on the right path to success. The ‘Complicado” singer is signed with NEON16, the grassroots label owned by Billboard’s #1 Latin producer (45th week by the way) Tainy and former Roc Nation executive Lex Borrero and Interscope Records. Earlier this year in our cover story with Tainy, he mentioned the label’s organic and “homie” approach to finding and signing talent. Keeping the roster tightknit, Tainy believes in the “it” factor and fostering that to the highest potential. As such, we expect nothing but total knockouts from Kris Floyd as he develops his artistry with the label.

Kris’s image and marketing has been refreshingly mysterious since his debut. The visuals for his first two singles “Codigos” and “Complicado” were fresh takes on what would normally be expected.

Maintaining the focus on the music while managing to maintain a level of anticipation on what he is going to do next. This was followed up by a collaboration with Tainy on “Malos Habitos,” a track off on the label’s EP, NEON16 TAPE: THE KIDS THAT GREW UP ON REGGAETON. The single featured another visual while keeping everything consistently on brand. Kris along with NEON16 are creating their own lane in Latin music and it’s exciting to see what the next move is going to be.
