Rubio Wraps Up Las Voces del Jacaranda with New Single “YUGEN” and Lands First Latin GRAMMY Nomination

Chilean artist Francisca Straube, also known as Rubio, has just dropped her latest single “YUGEN,” wrapping up her project *Las Voces del Jacaranda*. Released through FAMA Collective, the song mixes drum and bass beats with sad, emotional melodies. Co-written with Pablo Stipicic, “YUGEN” takes listeners on a deep, reflective journey, touching on themes of beauty and human suffering. The title comes from a Japanese term that reflects the mysterious beauty of the universe and the painful parts of life.
.
Rubio explains, “It is this awareness of the universe that triggers emotional reactions that are too mysterious and profound to express in words.” Her soft vocals capture feelings of personal struggle, connecting to the world around her. The track pushes musical boundaries, blending genres while staying true to its emotional core.
.
The video, directed by Germán Tejada, was filmed in the busy streets of Mexico City and the green landscapes of Tepoztlán. It visually contrasts the chaos of city life with the calm of nature, matching the song’s themes. This is another example of Rubio’s focus on creating detailed and artistic visuals.
.
Rubio has also earned her first Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Long Form Music Video with *Nacimos Llorando*. After her *Venus & Blue* tour in the U.S. and Latin America, she’ll be performing in Europe with stops in Barcelona, Madrid, and Madeira. On December 4th, she’ll play at The Lunario in Mexico City, and fans can expect more new music soon.
