2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards: Bad Bunny, Sony Music Latin, KAROL G, and Peso Pluma Shine as Victors

The Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida, shone brightly on the night of October 5, 2023, as the annual Billboard Latin Music Awards celebrated the outstanding achievements of Latin music’s biggest stars. The star-studded event featured electrifying performances, touching tributes, and a multitude of accolades, with several artists emerging as the night’s biggest winners.

Regional Mexican act Peso Pluma led the pack with an impressive 21 nominations, and their remarkable talent was recognized with eight well-deserved awards. Bad Bunny, another powerhouse in the Latin music scene, secured 15 nominations and took home seven awards. Meanwhile, Karol G, who had the most female nominations with 13, proudly claimed five Billboard Latin Music Awards.

The evening was not just about accolades, but also about unforgettable live performances. The audience was treated to a medley of chart-toppers and newest hits by various artists. Reggaeton pioneer Ivy Queen was honored with the prestigious Billboard Icon Award, a testament to her enduring influence on the genre. Los Ángeles Azules, the legendary cumbia group, received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of their remarkable four-decade-long career.

Karol G, in addition to her multiple awards, was also presented with the Spirit of Hope Award, acknowledging her contributions beyond the music industry.

The awards ceremony was broadcast live on Telemundo, as well as simulcast on the Spanish entertainment cable network Universo, on Peacock, and the Telemundo app, ensuring that fans across the globe could witness the magic unfold.
