Rising Detroit Rapper Skilla Baby Teams Up with G Herbo in New Single ‘B’Cuz

Detroit rapper Skilla Baby is back with an all-new single “B’Cuz,” featuring Chicago legend G Herbo. This track serves as a teaser for the upcoming deluxe edition of his highly acclaimed album from last year, We Eat the Most, and is now available on all major digital platforms. The single premiered on BET JAMS Billboard in Times Square, further solidifying Skilla Baby’s rising star status.

“B’Cuz” showcases the seamless collaboration between Skilla Baby and G Herbo, as their voices intertwine and complement each other effortlessly. The lyrics of the song navigate between references to pop culture icons like John Wick and impulse purchases of chinchilla coats, juxtaposed against the harsh realities of violence that continue to loom in their surroundings. While Herbo asserts that leaving the hood doesn’t mean he’s not paranoid, Skilla emphasizes that he may try to chill, but he’s still in touch with his hood roots.

This latest release follows Skilla Baby’s recent single “Ok Bet” and his full-length project Controversy, a collaborative effort with fellow Detroit artist Tee Grizzley. Before that, he dropped “Marty McFly,” which showcased his singing abilities and came with a visually stunning Back to the Future-inspired music video. Skilla Baby first made waves with his 2022 album We Eat the Most, a concise collection of seven tracks that showcased his insightful perspective and unique approach to various topics.

At just 24 years old, Skilla Baby is already establishing himself as one of Detroit’s most distinctive voices in hip-hop. Having been mentored by hometown hero Sada Baby, Skilla has built an impressive discography, beginning with his debut album Push That Shit Out Skilla in 2019. In 2022 alone, he released three mixtapes, including We Eat the Most, Detroit Raised Me, and Crack Music 2, solidifying his reputation as a captivating and prolific artist within the genre.

With “B’Cuz” adding to his growing body of work, Skilla Baby continues to prove his prowess as a rising star in the rap scene. His unique perspective and ability to approach topics from unexpected angles make him an artist worth keeping an eye on as he continues to make his mark on the industry.
