“I first started our dabbling a bit with my friend/ Artist ADIV & Rush Davis, who helped tremendously find my voice and comfort in a new realm. In the beginning, I didn’t realize how much it took to be a music artist, so I liked so desire to do it properly,” he said.

Ross knew with this passion he had to take this on as his mission of letting the world know his art and music would impact.

“I eventually came to realization that I must do the same thing I did with my modeling career and that is give it my all, so I stepped back for a while when it came to fashion. I locked myself into my desire and dreams when it came to music and figure out how to embodying who Shaun Ross is as a music artist. Later on, Rush Davis introduced me to producers Michael Tritter & Carlos Chairez of JEX Records. I’ve always had a material taste of music in these two; we’re not afraid to create it working with a soul-centric electronica flow. I found a home for my music when it came to working with these two gentlemen,” Ross said.

Overall Black creatives, there has been such a heavy social climate whether the music industry, politics, and fashion has been brought to the forefront that change must occur to move forward.

“I think the rest of the world will start to truly understand the hardship that comes with being a minority in this country when you were never allowed mental freedom from the start. Just imagine living in the world that tells you can be something before says you to be another,” Ross said.

He plays his part within the industry by showing the youth that anything is possible, so he uses this chapter to create and share meaningful music.

“[What] I would love to do next, and that is create a career in music because I know that I have a lot to say and that I am talented. We need to normalize people who actually believe in themselves. It’s not cocky or arrogant, but sometimes the belief system has to start with you,” he said.

Through his artistry, he is looking to create a shift within the industry to create awareness and change.

“My album is titled “SHIFT,” named way before the pandemic because I felt like the world for the longest time was spinning too fast. We live in a world where instant gratification is at an all-time high, especially when it comes to today’s youth not really understanding the concepts of working hard. We needed this change. We also needed to be placed in our reality to look at how we can become better as a human race,” Ross said.

He continues to remain fearless and live by his philosophy by not moving in fear, letting go of what does not serve him, and being strikingly different.

“Besides my appearance, I would say what makes me different is my look at life. The older I get, the more I notice how much has been placed on me that is not entirely mean. I am learning to shed what does not serve me,” he said.
