I hope it empowers the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups with bold, inclusive pieces that encourage everyone to embrace their true selves and celebrate their uniqueness,” ONCH says. ONCH’s fondness for the Teletubbies runs deep. “One of my fondest memories of the Teletubbies is watching the show every morning and feeling instantly transported to their magical world. I especially loved my talking Po doll with her sparkly belly, which became my constant companion. Those carefree days of imagination and joy still bring a smile to my face,” ONCH reminisces. This nostalgic connection has fueled the creativity and passion poured into this collaboration, making it a true labor of love.

“Working with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po was an absolute joy. We brainstormed the collection together, and each of them had significant creative input. Tinky Winky’s sense of style, Dipsy’s flair for fun, Laa-Laa’s vibrant energy, and Po’s whimsical touches all came together to shape our project,” ONCH reveals.

Tinky Winky: Tubby Toast in bag YAY!

Translation: Tinky Winky’s favorite thing to carry around in his iconic red bag is Tubby Toast because he always eats… and leaves no crumbs.

Contrast: What’s your favorite song of the moment? If you could invite any celebrity to visit Teletubbyland, who would it be and why?

Dipsy: Big Dance Charli!

Translation: Dipsy’s favorite song right now is Charli XCX’s ‘the girl, so confusing version with lorde’ because he’s having a brat summer and loves to work it out on the remix.

Laa-Laa:  Laa-Laa loves ball!

Translation: Laa-Laa’s favorite accessory is her orange ball – she would love to invite Jared McCain to visit Teletubbyland to play basketball! (Oh, and Dipsy chimed with Chappel Roan!)

Choosing a favorite Teletubby might be impossible, but ONCH does have a special connection with one. “It’s tough to choose a favorite because each Teletubby is special to me and brings something unique. However, I resonate most with Po’s playful and adventurous spirit. But truly, I can’t pick just one from all my best friends; they all contribute their own magic and joy,” ONCH admits. This affection for each character shows in the thoughtful, detailed designs that reflect their individual personalities.

The definition of Contrast, “to be strikingly different,” perfectly captures ONCH’s design philosophy. “Being strikingly different means creating pieces that stand out and make memorable statements. My design philosophy is about celebrating those differences and transforming them into captivating and joyful works of art.”
