Brazilian Singer Marília Mendonça Dies In Tragic Plane Crash at Age 26
Beloved Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça has passed away at the age of 26 on November 5, 2021. Marília was survived by her 1 year-old son. The Latin Grammy winner was en route to a concert when the small plane crashed in the rural region of Minas Gerais. Alongside the singer, four others were marked as having also been deceased.
Marília Mendonça began creating music at the age of 12, writing ‘Minha Herança’, a song that would capture the attention of those around her. She was quickly signed and from there her career continued to take off. At 20, she recorded a musical DVD that would put a visual to her already empowering lyrics. She then quickly released her second DVD, following the success of her first. She was dedicated to her craft and to this day, performed at least 15 shows a month.
At the time of her death, she had accumulated over 38 million followers on Instagram that will surely miss her presence. The singer’s family advised that her funeral would run at 8AM in the state capital, Goiânia. Over 100,000 fans turned family are expected to join the public memorial. Her impact on the country of Brazil has been set in stone and her presence will be forever missed.
