Justin Bieber: Through the Years

With the release of his new album Purpose, which is now available on iTunes, Contrast Magazine has decided to take a look at Justin Bieber‘s most iconic moments throughout his career. From YouTube to A-List celebrity, the Canadian singer has solidified himself as a force to be reckoned with in pop music. Read up on some of his memorable journey below.

The Tour Movies

The first of Bieber’s concert films was titled Justin Bieber: Never Say Never grossed nearly $100 million in total worldwide sales after it came out in 2011. It showed highlights and footage of the performances from his My World Tour. Additionally, guest stars in this film included Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Scooter Braun, L.A. Reid, and many others. Its sequel Justin Bieber’s Believe was released on Christmas day in 2013. However, the follow-up film only grossed $6.2 million in the U.S. and received negative reviews from critics.

Collaborations

The 21-year-old has had several music collaborations throughout his career. Perhaps one of his most talked about collaborations was “Beauty And A Beat” off his Believe album, where Nicki Minaj was a featured artist. When the music video was released for the track, it broke the VEVO Record for most views within a 24-hour period. However, Bieber did not hold this record for long, as One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and Adele have all beaten Justin’s record since.

Hair

Bieber’s hair has been quite a topic of conversation throughout his career. Beginning with his bowl cut at the star of his career and ending with his Kate-Gosselin-inspired hair cut, his hair may possibly be more iconic than Trump’s toupee or Sia’s wigs.

Christmas Music

The young recording artist put out his first Christmas album  “Under The Mistletoe” back in 2011. The album, which featured popular single “Mistletoe,” debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart when it was released. Bieber had collaborated with the Queen of Christmas herself Ms. Mariah Carey on an updated version of her hit Christmas song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Deposition Video

In March 2014, TMZ posted several clips of a deposition video involved with a battery lawsuit, which was filed in June of that year by photographer Jeffrey Binion. The videos show Miami lawyer Mark DiCowden questioning the singer for approximately four hours. Since Bieber is a hot topic in the entertainment industry, the clips quickly went viral, showing the somewhat hostile witness talking back to the lawyer, winking at the camera, and expressing multiple moments of sarcasm.

Television Performances

Over the years, Bieber has had his fair share of iconic moments aired on the television screen, mainly performing his songs at various awards shows. His impact allowed him to expand into other areas of television though. He even made appearances on a few episodes of Punk’d. After hosting Saturday Night Live in 2013 and being roasted by D-List celebrities on a Comedy Central roast, there isn’t much that Bieber hasn’t done on television.

Body

From stripping down at concert performances to posting half-naked pictures on his Instagram account, Justin’s body has gotten a lot of exposure throughout the years. However, the pop star’s body caught even more attention in 2015 between his photoshoot for Calvin Klein and the full-frontal nude pictures (censored in link) of him from his vacation in Bora Bora. His Calvin Klein advertisement was later parodied on Saturday Night Live by Kate McKinnon.

The Fragrances

Bieber has become the Prince of Fragrances, with four different perfumes under his belt (Someday, Girlfriend, The Key, Collector’s Edition). Considering his fan base, creating these fragrances seems like a smart move on his part. Which teenage girl wouldn’t want to smell like their crush’s favorite scents?! Check them out here.

In closing, we would like to thank not only God, but also Jesus for blessing us with Justin Bieber. Through all of his mistakes, the pop star has been able to treat them as learning lessons as he has gained back the respect of the world, proving that it’s never too late to say “Sorry.”
