Latin Music’s Rising Star, Sael, Talks New Music, Debut Performance at Lollapalooza Argentina 2022 and More

23-year-old singer-songwriter and producer, Sael, born Santiago Elías Mercado Gomez, is Latin music’s latest breakout phenomenon and is putting Argetina on the map!

His latest single, “Flaca,” featuring Mau y Ricky, has garnered over half a million views just 24 hours after being released on YouTube. One of Sael’s greatest achievements is his song “Pase Lo Que Pase (Remix)” surpassing over 15 million combined global streams.

We spoke with The Black Koi singer Sael for his Contrast Man cover story.

“I’m not an artist that really focuses on the numbers, but to see so many people supporting my music means the world to me. I’m so grateful and extremely motivated,” he said.

Although Sael fell in love with music at a young age, he attests his success to hard work and dedication. “While kids at school were playing with toys, I was playing with guitars and pianos,” he said.

Besides working on his own music, Sael enjoys working with other artists. He is actually the mastermind who wrote and produced Maria Angelique’s Breakout Global Hit “Perreito.” He says he would love to collaborate with artists such as J Balvin and Justin Bieber.

Not only will Sael be releasing more music in 2022, but he has also been confirmed to perform on the prestigious Lollapalooza Argentina 2022 stage. “I’m very excited about everything I have coming out next year, but performing at one of the biggest festivals… in my country… truly means the world to me,” he said.
