Latina Girl Group, Bella Dose, Surpasses 600 Million Views Across TikTok With Viral Track ‘Si Me Llamas’

Dubbed as “your favorite girl band” by J-14, the world’s first Latina girl group, Bella Dose, took TikTok by storm with ‘Si Me Llamas.’ The song is a “trappy bachata that talks about drawing the line and cutting off your ex.”

After the song skyrocketed with popularity on TikTok, some of the top Latin influencers such as Michel Chavez, Brianda Deyanara, Rodrigo ‘El Rod’ Contreras, Dome Lipa, Sophia Talamas, Kunno and more accumulating over 600 million views across the app with over 110k videos using the song.

The Latina queens of Bella Dose are no strangers to TikTok having garnered over 1.4 million followers and collaborations with viral cosplay sensation Twisted Pennywise and Netflix.

We spoke with the girls about their newfound success with the song. Read the full interview below.

You’re recent track ‘Si Me Llamas’ has garnered over 600 Million views with 106k videos across TikTok! That’s incredible! Tell me how this viral hit came about.
Melany: The support we’ve received from this song is absolutely incredible. We really just created a TikTok challenge that we felt anyone could do and the challenge started becoming viral on its own with no push. It hit 1000, then it started going up. Then it it 5000, and we were like whoa. Then, 10K, then 20K, then 50K, and then 100K… The song slowly started gaining thousands of streams as well, and thanks to our challenge, the song is now at 1 million streams on Spotify! We’re so thankful to everyone who has helped us get there.

What does this song mean to you?
Brianna: “Si Me Llamas” was a song we could all relate to. When we wrote it we were all super excited because it was something we shared and something we’ve all been through. It’s personally one of my favorite songs on the EP, plus it’s a major girl anthem. 

You recently releases the music video for ‘Largate.’ How was it creating such a fun music video?
Melany: Filming the “Lárgate” music video was definitely a very fun video! It was a bit different from our other videos because we got to act in it and embody different personalities that allowed the video plot to develop! We were able to play these characters that we’ve never played before and it really brought the story line of the song to life.

Tell me about your earliest memory of music.
Thais: The earliest memory of music that stands out to me is the first time I heard “como la flor” by Selena. I think I had a CD of hers and I kept playing it over and over again until I knew it like the back of my hand. That became my “go-to” song whenever someone asked me to sing and I’ll never forget how Selena and that specific song influenced my passion for music. 

Melany: My earliest memory of music is the memory of my mom blasting music throughout the house when we would clean every Sunday. She’s definitely one of the people who influenced me to start singing, especially since she would show me the songs she wrote and would sing them to me.

Jenni: My earliest memory of music was when I was a baby. My mom used to sing to me every morning and night. When I got old enough to talk I would sing along with her. When I was old enough to read, my brother taught me music theory as well because he has such a strong love for the art of music.   

Brianna: My earliest memory of music was when I was around the age of four. I had a notebook where I would write my music and tell my mom to write down the words because I didn’t know how to write it myself. I had a song called rainbows and roller coasters.

What’s next for you?
Thais: I can definitely say we have a lot of new content and music coming out soon. It’s going to be a bit different than what you’re used to from Bella Dose but I think our audience is going to love it. We are focusing on really getting in touch with our emotions and portraying that in our upcoming music. 

The definition of Contrast is ‘to be strikingly different.’ What makes you strikingly different?
Jenni: What differentiates us from other groups is that we are the world’s first Latin bilingual girl group. It’s an honor to hold that title and be the first bilingual group to represent our Latin culture in the music industry. Another thing that makes us unique, is how diverse we are when creating music. In our EP “Suelta” you really get a taste of what Bella Dose is with our mix of Dembow, bachata and many more genres. We love to be outside of the box.
