Duvin Design Co. Founder Garrett Watzka Talks Capsule Collection with NBA’s Orlando Magic

Duvin Design Co. has released their latest capsule collection with the NBA’s Orlando Magic, titled “Greetings From Orlando,” and we have all of the details.

This collection is Duvin’s first with the NBA team and the collection debuted on February 10th in the team’s hometown exclusively at the Orlando Magic Team Shop at Amway Center, as well as the Duvin Design Pop-Up at The Heavy Winter Park, which ran from February 10th – February 19th.

Contrast’s Marketing Director, Matthew Felix, caught up with one of the brand’s founders, Garrett Watzka, where he shared more on the exciting launch, asking what
 is it about the Orlando magic that is so special to Duvin. Garrett replied, “All 3 of the founders (myself, Austin, and Shaun) have been lifelong Magic fans so working on a collaboration with the team has been incredible. I think I can speak for all Magic fans when I say there has been a huge demand to bring back the “throwback” logos and pinstripes.”

Garrett also shared that Magic gave them the green light to design a collection within 90 days. They jumped on the opportunity and knew it would be something unique for the team to work on. He continued, “I think that was pretty apparent by the amount of people that attended the launch event – some waiting 3+ hours to get the merch!).”

The brand launched in 2010, while the founders were all still completing college, while selling selling t-shirts out of the trunks of their cars. Thirteen years later, Duvin Design Co. is now available in over 130 retailers across 10 countries. “What started as a product based on surf culture has evolved into a fashion brand that caters to anyone looking to have a good time enjoying the sun.”
