In an interview with Contrast in Miami, Fariana opened up about her latest project. She reflected on the long gap since her last album, explaining that Underwater  “signifies a rebirth, a new stage.” The album cover, depicting the sea, symbolizes tranquility, peace, and harmony—feelings she hopes to share with her audience. “When I feel incredible, I know people feel that too,” she said, emphasizing how the cover art embodies her personal and artistic evolution. “Booty Killa,” featuring dancehall artist Mr. Vegas, has already reached #36 on YouTube Music’s charts in Kingston, Jamaica. One clever lyric from “Booty Killa” that demonstrates Fariana’s creative songwriting includes “Una man down como Rihanna y hoy vino buscando a su A$AP.” When asked about the inspiration behind it, Fariana explained that it’s playful wordplay, referring to capturing someone with your charm. She admires Rihanna and sees her relationship with A$AP Rocky as a reference for the lyric, which came to her naturally.
.
Another standout collaboration in Underwater is with Flo Rida. He is featured on the tracks “On Top of the World” and “Plátano.” “It’s an honor to have Flo Rida on my album,” Fariana shared. “I wanted something people could dance to, and he took the album to another level.” Flo Rida, known for his club hits, took on a new challenge by rapping and singing in Spanish—a first for him. Fariana revealed that they co-wrote the tracks with White Star and promised a behind-the-scenes look at how their collaboration came together soon.
.
One track that deserves special attention is “Doggys”, where Fariana teams up with powerhouse Mexican-American rapper Snow Tha Product. “It’s such an honor because I admire her so much,” Fariana said. “She represents Latinas and women rappers so well. She’s hardworking, with a beautiful story.” When Snow Tha Product sent over her verse, Fariana knew immediately that she had killed it. This track seamlessly transitions between English and Spanish, delivering fierce female rapper energy.

The impressive lineup of singles in Underwater and the talented artists Fariana collaborated with further highlighted her creative vision. As a pioneer in Colombia’s reggaeton and urban music scene, Fariana demonstrates her ability to evolve and continue standing out as a dynamic force in the industry.
