Kali Uchis New Album SIN MIEDO (del Amor y Otros Demonios) Is A Noistalgic New Release

Just when our minds needed a break from the year we’ve had, here comes the Colombian-American singer to share with us her love (and demons) without fear but with sweetness. Kali Uchis realized the past November 18 her new album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞ . Just seven months after the release of her EP, ‘To Feel Alive,’ but this time, we will be hearing her nostalgic and authentic Colombian side but still showcasing her neo-soul style.

This album is a nice mix of many genres that will send us to the songwriter’s nostalgic childhood. The album opens with a sweet ballad, “La Luna Enamorada.” It sends us to a soft trap trip progressively into a classic 00` reggaeton, showing us Kali’s universe, where she expresses her sexuality and feeling empowered. These songs will be showing us what her style is and how she can compose it over sounds that inspired her since her childhood.

NEON16’s Tainy was an essential part of this project, and his influence can be recognized on the production of many songs, like the classic 00s reggaeton sound on “te pongo mal” and “la luz (fin).”

At 26 years old, the Spanglish singer demonstrates that she can write her own story and defend her principles, recognizing that music is more than just language. It’s about a universal sound: body language. With Rico Nasty, she tells us she is in charge (Aquí Yo Mando), and the album ends by saying: La Vida es una y a nadie le debo. (The life is one, and I owe nobody).
